Technology does not stand still and the market of mobile devices regularly gets something new. At the same time, outdated gadgets interest developers less and less, and those who do not want to give up their familiar smartphone risk being unable to communicate with their loved ones. Thus, outdated devices are no longer supported by WhatsApp and Skype. The developers of Facebook, on the contrary, released a special version of their messenger, designed specifically for devices on Android 2.3 and above and taking only 10 MB of memory. It seems that users liked the application: the number of its installations has recently exceeded 50 million.Reaching the mark of 50 million downloads in less than a year is quite a serious indicator. For comparison, the number of installations of the light version of the social network's official client - Facebook Lite - ranges from 500 million to 1 billion, but in this case we are talking about an application that was released back in early 2015. Given the popularity of applications for outdated gadgets, we can only hope that they will not suffer the fate of Lifestage and Groups. Recall that Facebook decided to close the aforementioned services, despite their relevance. Representatives of the company themselves commented on this desire to free up time and resources for more important projects.
