Viber's popularity in Russia grew by more than a third in a year

Nowadays, there are quite a few messengers of all kinds, which have become an integral part of our lives. While some people prefer WhatsApp, some prefer Telegram, an increasing number of our compatriots prefer Viber.The RNS agency shared the relevant information, citing the press service of the company. According to the published data, at the beginning of March this year the number of Viber users in Russia reached 82 million. It is by 40.17% more than last year's figures. The messenger's popularity growth was relatively slow, but steady. For example, back in September last year the number of our compatriots registered in Viber was 70 million, and by the end of 2016 it increased to 76 million. With the growth in the number of users, it is natural that their activity has also increased. Representatives of the company reported a 26% increase in the number of messages sent in group chats and a 40% increase in the number of video calls. In addition, the number of active users per day increased by 10%. It is worth adding that the largest number of Viber users from Russia accounts for Moscow and the Moscow Region, St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, as well as the Samara, Sverdlovsk and Krasnodar Regions.
