Microsoft has announced the launch of a new feature in Skype - Private Conversations, or "private conversations. As the name suggests, it allows you to create private conversations securely protected by end-to-end encryption. It is reported that you cannot encrypt existing chats with this function - only new chats can be protected. In addition, they cannot be transferred between their devices. Thus, the user will have to create a new secure chat with each of their gadgets, without the possibility of continuing the conversation and, moreover, synchronizing messages between multiple devices. It is worth adding that the developers of Skype have created the Private Conversations function in collaboration with the company Open Whisper Systems, known for its secure messenger Signal. Recall that earlier the developers of WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger and Google Allo resorted to their help in working on a similar function. The encryption function is not yet available to all Skype users. Only members of the Skype Insiders beta testers community can try it out. Everyone else will have to wait a little longer.
