This cellular operator was one of the first to offer its subscribers to try eSim. It should be reminded that three other major cellular operators - VimpelCom, Megafon and MTS, as well as the FSB - opposed this technology.
It has been possible to switch to SIM-cards integrated into mobile devices since April 29. So far the service is available only in Moscow in five salons of the city. However, Tele2 representatives say that no later than May 5 the option will be available in 83 stores in Moscow and the Moscow Region. How much money had been spent on the project, the representative of the mobile operator did not say.
If you want to have eSim in your phone, you have to come to Tele2 salons with a passport, write a special application, and get a QR code. It has to be activated, after which the physical SIM-card will stop working and the operator will switch to eSim. In this case, the old phone number can be retained. If you are not a Tele2 subscriber, you will first need to switch to this operator and get a physical SIM card.
Before offering eSim to users, the company tested the technology on its employees as a pilot project. Now Tele2 is moving to a wide range of devices.
