According to data published by the Vedomosti newspaper, citing an employee of Navicom, Garmin will soon launch its own payment system in Russia. The new payment system is called Garmin Pay. It was first presented in September this year at the opening of the IFA 2017 exhibition in Berlin. With its help, according to the developers, users will be able to make contactless payments, using only smart watches Garmin. It is reported that Garmin Pay is based on the FitPay platform and uses NFC to make payments. In order to pay for this or that product or service, the user only has to select the desired card in the virtual wallet, bring your hand with a watch to the terminal and enter the security code. It is worth adding that the payment system supports cards Visa and MasterCard. It is known that Garmin is already in talks with a number of banks in Russia on the introduction of technology in our country. Binbank and Rosselkhozbank may take part in the initiative. At the same time, an employee of Sberbank reported about successful test transactions and readiness to launch the system. Despite the fact that there is no official information about the launch date of Garmin Pay in our country, most likely, it will be possible to try it by the end of this year. We can only hope that the technology will be in demand, even despite the relatively small number of gadgets that support the payment system, as well as the presence of more popular competitors - Android Pay, Apple Pay and Samsung Pay.
