Gish is a fascinating computer game in the two-dimensional arcade genre.
The protagonist of the game is a little tar ball named Gish. He has no external organs other than yellow sparkling eyes and fangs. Gish's friend Brea has been captured by an unknown person and dragged underground, deep into the sewer tunnels. The protagonist sets out to find her. The story has two endings, which are determined by passing the last level in the game.
In addition to the ability to move, Gish can change his physical state: be just solid, solid and heavy, sticky, slippery. In the second state, he falls faster, has the ability to smash solid objects, crush enemies, sink in water, resist squeezing (the latter is also possible in the first state). In the sticky state, Gish can stick to surfaces, surrounding objects. In its slippery state, it can squeeze (squeeze through) narrow places on levels, etc. To jump, Gish must first compress his body and then, at the moment of maximum compression, regain the rigid shape of his body and jump up like a spring. With each successive jump, the height of the jump increases.
Gish can be in several states at the same time, which makes it possible to overcome difficult moments. For example, when he is sticky and slippery, he can climb walls without sticking to objects other than the wall.
