KBasic is a RAD environment for programming in the Basic dialect, close to VB.NET, Visual Basic, Visual Basic for Application and Java, syntactically fully compatible with VB6, VBA and QBasic.
The KBasic widget library is an add-on to Qt.
The compiler and interpreter has three modes: KBasic (native, partially compatible with VB.NET), Old Basic (compatible with VB6) and Very Old Basic (compatible with QBasic). The integrated development environment is similar to Microsoft Visual Studio .NET and includes a built-in debugger. KBasic supports the development of applications that include an embedded DBMS (SQLite) or use MySQL or PostgreSQL. There are wizards for creating forms and reports.
The disadvantages of KBasic include incomplete compatibility with Microsoft Basic dialects, not very handy IDE and low performance.
