Description

Lazarus is a program that provides developers with a full-featured development environment in Delphi, allowing them to create cross-platform applications for personal and commercial use. It includes a comprehensive IDE for Free Pascal with code debugging and compilation features, as well as a set of components, frameworks and packages needed for software development.

Its tabbed interface and well-placed toolbars make it easy to work in this environment. It offers a "floating" source code editor with all the features you need, including syntax highlighting/checking, line numbering, inserting components, code autocompletion, etc. You can manage projects, import code into Delphi and files, manage project requirements and use template sets in your work.

Lazarus also has a graphical form editor to help you with the interface of your software. It has a huge variety of components that will come in handy, including drop-down lists, buttons, menus, text input boxes, checkboxes, shapes, progress bars, navigation items, tab bars, dialogs and more.

Object Inspector helps you properly configure the properties of each object, set responses to user commands, manage anchors, and set constraints. It comes with an integrated debugger to help you quickly find bugs in your code and a compiler for deploying projects.

Download Lazarus from freeSOFT.com: it's free, safe and fast.

I give it an A! I got tired of the mothballed Delphi 7 and chose Lazarus. I am writing a 500 person client/server system (Lazarus 1.4.4 + Firebird 2.5). My impressions are that the IDE is awesome and there is nothing extra! It is much more comfortable than Delphi. For those who have big EE files, it's because of the debugging information, which in addition to the code is sewn into the EEshnik. Use compiler switches or STRIP utility (located in directory with Lazarus, more precisely with compiler) it cuts debugging information. Is the hash file too big anyway? Alas... That's the price you pay for cross-platform. Get UPX (free), it compresses EXEs 1.5-2 times.

Is it not necessary to specify the size of the programs?

People, correct the description of the program. The program is free, not free software. Since it has the GPL, that means no one is giving the user freedom on his will. It imposes the disclosure of the source code.

not true, the license to lazarus and most (if not all) of its components have a special exception that allows you to create commercial products without disclosing the source code
