The program's website has help, and in it a section devoted to 3ds, which describes possible problems with exporting and how to avoid them. If you can't avoid them, send me the model or a link to it, and I'll see what I can do.

It's a great program for such a small size. But there are a couple of flaws with the .3ds format. You can't import high-poly 3ds model over 700Kb (Range check error). And even less nice is that export back to 3ds goes wrong and model then will not open (error Acces Violation or in other programs Mesh has polys without material, which causes a conflict, although all the triangles assigned texture) even if the model is small. Works only if there is one facegroup with 1 material, otherwise it's always a glitch. And it makes no sense to re-texture everything

Great program! I was just looking for a skeleton animation editor for smd files ( I use GLScene ). One problem: not enough coordinate axes to edit (like in 3ds max) :)
