Description

Oolite is a free-to-play computer game in the space simulation genre. Oolite is a single-player space simulation game with a first-person perspective and non-linear gameplay. The player controls a spaceship capable of moving between nearby planetary systems using wormholes created by the ship's engines. Each system has only one inhabited planet, around which the orbital station orbits. The player chooses a destination system by the name of the inhabited planet in that system.

Although a wormhole can be created anywhere within the system if enough fuel is available, the ship is still a considerable distance from the station in the destination system. Consequently, after exiting the wormhole, the player must guide the ship through "normal" space to the station. In this case there are encounters with other ships, sometimes turning into space combat. The main weapons of the ships in the game are lasers and missiles. Most battles take place at close range, and the ships are not subject to Newton's laws of motion, in particular, they have no inertia and are not affected by gravity. Players can earn money by buying goods in one star system and transporting them to another system to sell.

You can also get money for destroying a pirate ship or collecting bonuses. The player can become a pirate himself and attack merchant and other ships. Although no bonus money is given for destroying a merchant ship, some of the cargo may survive an explosion. If the player's ship is equipped with a special collector, the surviving cargo can be collected for resale. If you have the necessary equipment, you can also mine ore and other minerals on the asteroids. In addition, it is possible to get a certain amount for delivering cargo or a passenger to a specified location.

The earned money the player spends on fuel for hyperspace engines, ship repairs and new equipment. The player can also buy another ship to replace his own, with other features and capabilities.

This is ELITE! (Firebird, ZX) We flew in crews of two (shooter/navigator) and spent hundreds of hours chasing pirates, Targons and wandering all over the galaxies in search of Ruxla! )))) Giles Williams, who put this beautiful but forgotten diamond in the golden rim of modern 3D graphics - my eternal highlighter and respect! ))))[:+5:]
