Start8

Start8 is a small but very useful program that brings back the usual Start button on the Windows 8 taskbar.

With it you can add a full-fledged Start menu in Windows 8 with all the usual features. Start8 offers very flexible menu settings that allow you to change both the appearance of the menu and its functionality. The program allows you to add absolutely any buttons and shortcuts to the Start menu. Shortcuts can be buttons or menus. It also brings back a search bar that you can use to search for programs, folders and files on your computer. As for appearance, Start8 lets you choose menu colors, turn on transparency, change fonts and icon sizes. The Start button itself can also be changed in the settings. There are two standard options to choose from, but you can use any other image for this.

In addition, Start8 offers two start menu styles: Windows 7 or Windows 8. If you've upgraded to Windows 10, but you don't like the new Start menu, try downloading Start10. It allows you to replace the standard menu in the new OS with the familiar one from Windows 7 and fully customize it to your liking.
