Windows Firewall Control

An auxiliary application for the firewall embedded in the shell of the Windows operating system, which greatly extends its functionality. The program is compatible with Windows 7, 8, 10. Distributed conditionally free of charge, to work with a number of functions requires a paid registration. Officially supports only English, but the network there are russifier programs.

Functions and features

The main task of the application is to simplify the interaction between the user of the Windows operating system and the firewall, which by default has an interface that is complicated for ordinary users. The network rules configuration function, which is the foundation of stable and successful firewall protection, requires a deep dive into the technical component.

The application provides quick access to four types of connection protection:

• high level filtering blocks outgoing and incoming connections;
• an intermediate level, based on the limits set by the user, blocks connections that are not on the list of allowed connections;
• a low level of filtering allows connections to the system, except for those specified by the user in the list of denied;
• no filtering disables the operating system firewall.

The application is managed by an active tab list and a workspace with the tools and features of each tab. Firewall Control looks simple and ascetic, with a user-friendly interface.

The following features are available to the user in the free version of the program:

• managing operating system Firewall rules and firewall settings;
• restoring of the settings upon uninstalling the program;
• import and export of network settings;
• built-in protection from unintended removal, for example by a virus program.

Some of the features are available only in the paid version:

• Creation of a password to protect firewall settings;
• Password recovery and replacement;
• Enabling the connection block notification system.

The program's advantages include low consumption of system resources, which does not affect the computer's performance.
