Facebook launches special Messenger for children

05 December 2017
Facebook has released another mobile application. Unlike other products of the company, it is designed exclusively for children under the age of 13. We are talking about a special version of the messenger company, called Messenger Kids. It is expected that with this application, children will be able to easily and safely exchange messages and communicate with friends and family members, including through group video calls. At the same time, the messenger allows the use of funny interactive masks, which will make video calls even more interesting, and also offers an extensive set of children's stickers, emoji, GIF-animations, frames and much more. For those who consider the creation of a special messenger for children an undertaking, at least, doubtful and, mostly, even unsafe, the developers have prepared a special feature. The thing is that Messenger Kids can be fully controlled by parents from their own Facebook accounts. Thus, they will be able to manage their child's contact list and, if necessary, clean it at any time. In addition, it is possible to create a children's account in the messenger without registering it in the social network. It is also reported that no phone number or access to a cellular network is required to communicate: to use Messenger for kids, just connect to a Wi-Fi network. In any case, Messenger Kids is still in the testing phase and is only available in the U.S. and only on Apple gadgets. For devices running Android Messenger will be available by the end of the year, and the launch of the application worldwide will happen only after the end of testing.
