At the Google I/O 2018 conference for developers a new version of the operating system Android P was once again presented. The company not only shared details about the next version of its mobile platform, but also released its beta version, which is available to ordinary users. One of the most noticeable changes in Android P is the new navigation button block. Now, the number of the latter will be reduced from three to one without loss of functionality, thanks to the introduction of gesture support. Also, if necessary, there will be a "back" button.Another nice innovation will be an interactive multitasking screen. In Android P, "thumbnails" of applications will cease to be just images. This means that with their help users will be able to interact with the running programs: copy text, change settings, switch tracks in the player, and much more. For those, who spend too much time with their smartphone, there is a panel Android Dashboard. With its help, users will be able to see detailed statistics on the time of use of certain applications. Moreover, Android Dashboard contains a built-in parental control tool, which will help to reduce the time spent in games or social networks. The new Wind Down feature works in a similar way. It allows you to set the time when the device's display goes black and white. It is not very pleasant to use such a device and therefore the user will have no choice but to go back to work or go to bed. Also worth mentioning is the Slices feature, which integrates the features of the installed programs directly into Google search. This means that if the user searches for, for example, a cab app, he will be prompted to call a car to his address automatically. Of course, this is not all the features of the new Android P. The operating system has received many improvements, including adaptive brightness autotuning system, updated alerts panel, application menu and power saving features based on artificial intelligence. Everyone can try all the innovations of the new Android beta, as long as they have a supported smartphone. This time, we are talking not only about Pixel gadgets, but also the flagships of a number of third-party manufacturers. Android P beta is available for 11 smartphones, including the Pixel series, Essential Phone, Sony Xperia XZ2, Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S and the yet-to-be-released OnePlus 6. Those who are not yet able to install the beta version on their smartphone should not be upset. In June we expect the third preview with the final APIs, and in July we will see the release candidate. As for the final version of the mobile operating system, it should be expected in the third quarter of 2018.
