More than a month has passed since Telegram was blocked in Russia. Despite the fact that the messenger is still working, the very fact that access to such a popular application is restricted has caused a sharp increase in interest in proxy services and VPNs among users in our country.According to Kommersant newspaper, Telegram is responsible for the growing popularity of VPN services in our country. Russian users are increasingly turning to such services to protect their privacy online and to avoid censorship. Many also use them to access familiar, but now blocked services. Representatives of Roskomnadzor reported that at present access to about 80 proxy-services and VPNs is limited in our country. It is noted that all of them were created specifically to provide access to Telegram. It is worth adding that 10 more such services have recently been unblocked, as they stopped providing access to the blocked messenger.
