Russians prefer contactless payment by smartphone

In 2018 the way of contactless payment with the help of smartphones became sharply popular among Russians. Research in this area was conducted by Alfa-Bank together with Svyaznoy - Euroset.

According to the specialists' assumptions, mobile banks may soon displace plastic cards from everyday life.

Last year, Russian residents bought 11 million gadgets with NFC, a contactless data exchange function. Exactly its presence in smartphone makes it possible to pay through a terminal. This way Russians bought goods for 304 billion rubles. They paid with smartphones 133 million times.

Experts also talk about the risks of paying with a smartphone, including uncontrolled spending of money.

According to the forecasts, the interest to purchases with smartphone will only grow in the near future. NFC in gadgets is quite convenient, and today it is even fashionable.
