The development of this system was initiated by the Central Bank of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Communications and Mass Communications. The use of biometric identification technology will not be limited to the banking sphere. In the future it will be used in medicine, education, e-commerce and other spheres. According to the published information, the system testing will be finished by the end of this year. And the timing of its final introduction will depend on the readiness of the banks themselves and the legislative framework.
