More and more Android gadgets are getting support for Google Assistant

14 March 2017
Not so long ago, Google announced the launch of Assistant, previously available only on Pixel devices, for all Android gadgets above Marshmallow. At the first stage, you could try the assistant on a small number of smartphones, but now the company has significantly expanded this list.Gadgets with a screen resolution of at least 1280×720, as well as with at least 1.5 GB of RAM will be able to use Google Assistant. The device must run Android Marshmallow or Nougat. These requirements meet a considerable number of smartphones, so there is no point in giving their complete list. Nevertheless, among the first owners of Samsung Galaxy S7, LG V20 and, oddly enough, Huawei Mate 9 and Huawei Honor 6X will have access to the assistant. The presence of the Chinese giant in this list was a pleasant surprise, because the company recently announced its intention to equip its new devices with an assistant from a competitor: Amazon Alexa. It is worth adding that Google Assistant will be installed on all compatible devices automatically, without user participation. If this has not happened yet - then you need to be patient and wait a little longer. By the way, it is possible that soon owners of Apple gadgets will be able to try the assistant, as hinted about by Google representative.
