mrotate

mrotate is a program that allows you to rotate text log files for programs that can not do it themselves. Installation is not required, there are no dependencies.

Two rotation modes are possible.

• The name of the archives uses the date/time, older files are removed if they are older than a certain date. Used mainly when the program creates many files, e.g. by date. It is used by default.
• An index is used in the name of archives. (The usual behavior of logrotate from linux). I.e. the previous file will have index 001, the older one 002, etc. They are shifted when archiving. Files are deleted when the index exceeds a given number (number of rotations).

The archiving with any external archiver is possible. Packing of several files into one archive (for example, all of them for one month) The utility is console. Rotation settings are set via text configuration files of ini format.
