Sid Meier's Civilization IV is a turn-based strategy game for the PC, which is the fourth installment in the popular Sid Meier's Civilization series.
You begin the game in the year 4000 B.C., having only a settler, warrior or scout and a learned technology, which depends on the selected civilization. With only this, you need to build an empire that will stand the test of time. To do this, you have to explore the world in search of valuable resources, build new cities, develop them, build buildings and wonders of the world and, at the same time, not to forget about the development of the armed forces, so as not to become easy prey for your neighbors.
Compared to its predecessor, Civilization III, the game has received many improvements. The most noticeable one is the detailed 3D-world. In addition, the game got 7 major world religions - Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam, Christianity, Judaism, Confucianism, Taoism, and many other tools for the management and development of civilization. The combat system has also undergone changes. Troops will now receive experience points for defeating enemies. As they level up, they will receive new features and functions.
It's worth noting that Civilization IV allows you to choose the most preferred path to victory for the player. This means that you do not have to take over the entire world in order to win. In total, there are 6 options for achieving victory.
