UserGate Proxy & Firewall is a comprehensive solution for sharing Internet access from a local network, counting traffic and protecting your corporate network from external threats. It is an effective alternative to expensive hardware and software and is intended for use in small and medium-sized businesses. It also provides comprehensive protection of the local network with two built-in anti-virus modules by leading anti-virus software developers, Kaspersky Lab and Panda Security. Antivirus modules scan all types of network traffic, including mail, HTTP and FTP traffic.

In addition to anti-virus scanning, UserGate has a built-in firewall that provides reliable protection against external attacks. It can be used to control Internet access for individual employees or groups of employees united by common characteristics. Built-in traffic filtering module BrightCloud allows you to block access to unwanted resources, both individually and by categories of sites. This significantly reduces the company's exposure to untargeted traffic, increasing employee productivity and reducing the risk of malware entering the LAN.

UserGate also allows you to control the applications installed on client machines, allowing or denying Internet access for any particular application. It provides detailed statistics in the form of various reports available both directly from the program and remotely via a web browser. A built-in billing system automatically calculates the traffic cost for each user based on price, time and/or volume of traffic.

It includes a DHCP server for dynamically assigning IP addresses on the LAN and a resource publishing feature that allows external access to company resources within the LAN. In addition, UserGate supports multiple ISPs.
