Determination of Young's modulus 3D virtual laboratory work on physics (section: Mechanics).
Intended Use: Simulation of a laboratory work on general physics.
PURPOSE OF THE EXERCISE: To measure the deformation of a flat bar with supports at both ends, and to determine the modulus of elasticity.
DESCRIPTION: The deformation resistance of a flat horizontal bar in the form of bending under the action of an external force can be calculated mathematically if the degree of deformation is much less than the length of the bar. The deformation is proportional to the modulus of elasticity E of the material from which the bar is made. In this experiment, the deformation under the action of a known force can be measured and the results can be used to determine the modulus of elasticity of steel and aluminum.
