PURPOSE OF THE EXPERIMENT: To record and evaluate the oscillations of two identical connected pendulums.
DESCRIPTION: The oscillations of two identical connected pendulums are distinguished by an oscillation period and a beating period. The beat period is the interval between two moments of time when one pendulum deflects to its maximum amplitude. Both quantities can be calculated from the natural oscillation periods of the coupled pendulums, when the oscillations occur in phase and in antiphase.
